getting ready.

Tomorrow,I'm taking three girlfriends and heading down to my place in the Mojave Desert. I have five acres of property out in no man's land..i have a couple of old non functioning motorhomes on my property, and an ever expanding concept of turning it into the rock n roll retirement rv theme park.I also have a large mobile home that i'm slowly gutting and renovating into a main house, for myself.I love to have a project like this...to wake up in the stillness of the desert,to watch the sun burst over the hills, all chimney red and halloweenorange,to quote Tom Waits.I fall out of my hippie painted motorhome, usually bundled in pajamas, robe, and blanket...get the woodstove going, that sits in the center circle outside,,,make the coffee...and hold the steaming mug,as i watch the sun come up.By the time the sun is up,it is immediately 90 degrees,so the blankets and the pajamas come off...it is so strange how,one minute, you see your breath, white and frozen, hanging in the air,and next, you are soaked in sweat, and the sun is beating you up,all within a two minute window......It is my healing place, the place I go to reconnect,to remember who i am...to just...listen.I get a lot of mesages out there, from nature, from the cosmos, from my ancestors, and my future people.I am happy to take friends down there, but I only take very special ones...ones i know can understand the silent majesty and eery homeliness of it all.I get down there whenever I can,to reconnect with what is basic, what is necessary, and more importantly, what isn't necessary,in our self congratulatory and strange world that I dont feel that I fit into.
In the desert, they cant remember your name, for there aint no one for to give you no name.......and so it begins..another adventure on the road.

Let's see where it takes us,this time.....
